Teaching Artist Express Grant

• The Vermont Arts Council offers $500 grants to allow schools in Vermont to host a professional artist for up to two days. Schools are allowed to apply for the grant once every five years. Once a grant is awarded, schools choose an artist from the state's teaching artist roster to come to the school and work with that artist to present a lesson that is integrated with the school's curriculum. Many other state art councils offer a version of the Artist Express Grant.
  
  

Champion Creatively Alive Children

• Crayola provides mini grants worth $2,500 to elementary schools to help improve innovation in art education programs. The grant also includes $500 worth of Crayola products. To apply for the grant, the school principal must be a member of the National Association of Elementary School Principals. Applications require the school's art teacher to explain the innovative lesson plan or program the money will fund and how it will benefit the school as a whole.
  
  

Target Arts Grant

• In March and April every year, schools can apply for a $2,000 Target Arts Grant. The grant must be used to bring dance, music, art or drama into classrooms through art workshops, artist-in-residency programs or supplies to help students create a special art project. Applications should show how the grant will promote culture and creativity.
  
  

National Art Education Foundation

• The National Art Education Foundation offers a variety of mini grants to help support the teaching of the National Visual Arts Standards. Grants range from $500 to $10,000 and can be used to bring innovative and creative projects into the classroom, purchase supplies and conduct research. Those applying for the grant must be members of the National Art Education Association for at least one year before the application is submitted. Grants are awarded annually.
