Picture Appears Distorted

• Remove or turn off electrical appliances near the TV. The signal coming from these appliances while they are turned on can cause an electrical interference that may cause a blurry screen. If the TV is still blurry after you have turned off all of the electrical appliances, try connecting the TV to a different outlet or moving it to a different room.
  
  

Odd Patterns On Screen

• Check the connectors for all of the inputs connected to the 50-inch Vizio plasma TV to make sure they are firmly pushed in to the connecting input jacks. Check that the connectors are firmly pushed into the output jacks on the source device. If the connecting cables are not firmly pushed into the jacks, a blurry screen or a screen with odd-looking patterns will be the result.
  
  

Picture Mode and Aspect Ratio

• Press "MENU," and highlight the "Picture Adjust" icon that looks like a TV. Press the "Down" arrow to highlight "Picture Mode." Press the "Left" and "Right" arrows to cycle through different picture modes to see if those enhance the clarity of the picture. Alternatively, change the display's aspect ratio by pressing the "MENU" button on the remote and highlighting the "Settings" icon, which looks like a wrench. Press the "Down" arrow to highlight "Wide," then press the "Left" and "Right" arrows to toggle between various aspect ratios such as Normal, Wide and Panoramic.
  
  

Screen Discoloration

• The screen can become discolored and slightly blurry if you are using a component cable to connect a source device to the TV and have attached a cable connector to a mismatched input. Check the component cable connectors on the source devices and on the back or side of the 50-inch Vizio plasma TV to ensure all of the connectors are connected to jacks of the same color in one of the available component inputs.
