Lucas runs out of the hospital to his car and is followed by Kate, who takes a passenger?s seat. She insists they need to talk, but he refuses to. ?Listening to you is a total waste of time. You don?t know how to tell the truth,? he states. She claims she?d do anything for him. He declares that she finally got what she wanted by ripping Sami out of his life for good. He implores her to get out of his car and his life.
She insists she never wanted to see him unhappy. ?Then why do you do everything in your power to come between me and what makes me happy?? wonders Lucas. She tries to explain, but Lucas cuts her off, professing to love Sami forever. He comes to the realization that Kate will never fully accept his undying love for Sami. Kate tries to touch Lucas, but he threatens to throw her out of the car if she does so. Kate wonders what?s happened to their relationship and cries how she wanted so much for Lucas. He rehashes how she?s always done everything she could to come between him and what makes him happy. She recalls putting him first so she could give him the things that she thought he needed to be a good man. She expresses how proud of him she is and believes she must?ve done something right. He tells a remorseful Kate he doesn?t want her around and orders her out of his car.
Kate later recalls the night Lucas was born and how he was the most beautiful baby. Lucas isn?t interested in her sob story, though.
She laments her unforgivable mistakes and professes how she never stopped wanting to give him the world. Lucas is unmoved by her emotional pleas. ?I want you gone. I want you out of my car, right now,? he orders. She begs him to give her another chance, but he refuses and threatens to throw her out of the car. She leaves devastated.
At the Brady Pub, a furious Sami orders Andre to take the bomb off her father. EJ stops a feisty Sami from tampering with the bomb, since Andre could activate it at any moment. A horrified Sami demands to know what Andre?s done to her seemingly drugged father. Andre taunts how the damage isn?t permanent. Sami tries to assure Roman that he?s going to be okay. EJ queries if Andre?s spoken to Stefano lately. Andre babbles about being Stefano?s true son and refers to EJ and Tony as amateurs, embarrassments, and playboys. ?When Stefano?s foolish enough to depend on you nothing gets done!? he derides to EJ. EJ declares that Stefano ordered the vendetta over and warns Andre against defying Stefano?s wishes. Andre doesn?t believe it. EJ reveals that he and Sami have agreed to the terms of ending the vendetta. Sami fumes how she didn?t agree to this, since her dad has been beat up, drugged, and is strapped to a bomb. EJ tries to control a feisty Sami. ?My goodness, she must be some wildcat in bed!? surmises Andre. She asserts that she made a deal with Stefano to marry EJ if her family was safe. ?Stefano?s word doesn?t mean a thing!? she spits. She implores Andre to take the bomb off her dad, otherwise they?re done talking. Andre implies that he?d be happy to see Sami stop talking permanently. EJ hands Andre his phone and insists they talk to Stefano.
At the cemetery, Bo orders two of his officers to search the place for any traces of Andre. Believing that Steve?s on his way, he tells the officers to holler when Steve arrives. Bo informs Hope of Benjy?s death when she arrives. He states that Steve?s he!! bent on revenge and reveals that Abe assigned the number one graduate from the police academy to guard Stefano?s hospital room. Hope is skeptical that the officer is keeping Steve away. Bo is convinced that the guard kept Steve away, since Steve called earlier and he?s supposedly on the way. He demurs that Kayla doesn?t know about Benjy yet and asks his Fancy Face to help keep Steve calm, cool, and collected. Hope assures Bo she?ll help out where Steve?s concerned, but notes that it?s not like Steve to give up that easily. Bo remains convinced that Steve will show up nonetheless. Officer Chatsworth then arrives and claims he got there as quickly as he could. Bo of course is confused and wonders who sent him to the cemetery. Chatsworth claims that Bo ordered him down there, but Bo attests that he?s never spoken to the officer in his life. Chatsworth reminds Bo how he said, ?I want you out of that hospital now. Get your butt down to the cemetery.? Bo finally realizes that Steve duped him.
A vengeful Steve pulls a gun on Stefano in his hospital room. Stefano attempts to call for help, but Steve snatches the call button away. Steve closes the blinds and whispers how Stefano?s going to pay. Stefano wonders if he enjoys wearing a straight jacket that much as he implies how Steve will end back up in the mental hospital. ?You know what? I don?t mind. As long as they drop me off on the way home from your funeral!? seethes Steve, who points the gun at Stefano?s head. ?Tell me what happened. You owe me that much at least,? implores Stefano. Steve is appalled that Stefano actually believes he owes the elder DiMera. Steve speaks in droves before he reveals that he thought Roman was in the coffin, but Benjy?s body was there instead. Stefano is horrified that Andre would murder his son. Steve chastises Stefano for turning Andre into the monster he is today and rehashes how Stefano trained him to hurt people too. ?And now, I?m gonna show you just what a good job you did,? taunts Steve. He puts a pillow to Stefano?s head, who bellows like a wild animal. Stefano dares him to pull the trigger if he wants the vendetta to go on. He implores Steve to call Sami Brady, who will verify that the vendetta is over. He threatens Steve that the Bradys will continue to suffer more than ever if Steve kills him, since there will be noone left to call off the vendetta. ?Go ahead! Kill me!? he shouts.
