• Exhaust tips are usually made from steel; however, the finish on the tips can vary. The most popular tip is polished stainless steel. Manufacturers of these tips claim that polished stainless steel lasts longer than any other type of exhaust tip. Another type of finish is triple chrome plating. These tips have a mirror-like finish. • The tailpipe diameter of the HHR determines the inlet size of the exhaust tip. However, the length and outer bore diameter can vary according to your taste. • Exhaust tips can have different style outlet bores. Rounded and rectangular are a common choice offered by manufacturers of these tips. Other options are single and dual bore tips.
