How to Convert Horse Trailer to Cargo Trailer
- 1). Remove the dividers. In most trailers made after the year 1998, the dividers are designed to be easily removed. Simply undo whatever mechanism is used to keep the dividers in place and carry them out. In older trailers, the task may not be so simple. The dividers in some trailers are designed to be permanent, and cannot be removed without the use of welding equipment. In that case, you can either secure the dividers flat against the trailer wall or take the trailer to a professional to have the dividers removed.
- 2). Remove any feed mangers that may be in place. Like the dividers, these should be easily removable in newer trailers, but they may be permanent fixtures in older models. Having permanent mangers removed is time-consuming and costly, so consider how badly you need the extra space. If you decide to have them removed, take the trailer to a professional.
- 3). Sweep out the trailer to remove any loose dirt or manure that may still be on the floor.
- 4). Hose off the floor to remove any dirt or manure that remains.
