    • 1). Shut down the Latitude's operating system and disconnect any cable or device connected to the laptop. Push the LCD screen down into the closed position and flip over the entire laptop so the battery port on the bottom of the computer is facing up.

    • 2). Press down the two ridged latches directly underneath the battery port and slide them apart. Pull the battery out of its port and set the part aside. Locate the two screws marked with a letter "D" positioned at the lower-left and lower-right corners of the case. Remove both screws with a Phillips screwdriver.

    • 3). Locate the two Phillips screws on the hinges at the far back end of the laptop case. Remove both screws. Flip over the laptop again and open the LCD screen.

    • 4). Push back the LCD screen until the Latitude is lying completely flat. Slide the edge of a flat-head screwdriver underneath the hinge cover at the top-right corner of the keyboard. Pop the hinge cover upward and lift it completely off the laptop.

    • 5). Loosen and remove the three screws at the top edge of the keyboard with a Phillips screwdriver. Lift the keyboard slightly upward and unplug the cable connected to the back side. Pull the keyboard off your D620.

    • 6). Locate the cable connecting the bottom of the LCD screen to the top of the laptop's motherboard. Disconnect the cable by pulling it directly upward. Remove the four Phillips screws positioned at each corner of the plastic display bezel located around the LCD screen.

    • 7). Pull the plastic bezel off the LCD screen and locate the hinges at the lower-right and lower-left corners of the screen. Remove the screw holding each hinge in place and pull the hinges off the screen. Set the replacement hinges into position at the lower corners of the screen and reinstall the screws.

    • 8). Reassemble the laptop in reverse order by putting back together the plastic bezel, LCD cable, keyboard, hinge cover and battery.
