How to Do a Step Touch in Step Aerobics
- 1). Step aerobics is all about movement, and the step touch is one of the most basic movements. Stand directly behind the step and turn towards the left. This should leave the body running parallel with the step.
- 2). Stand on the left end (side) of the step. Lift the left foot on the step, firmly planting it on the step. Bring the right off the ground and tap the toes on the step. Step off the step with both feet and repeat.
- 3). Lower the left leg first and then the right leg. Step firmly on the floor. Repeat Step 2 by bringing the right foot back on the step, followed by the left foot.
- 4). Switch sides on the step. Stand on the right end (side) of the step. Lift the left foot on the step, firmly planting it on the step. Bring the right off the ground. Tap the toes on the step. Step off the step with both feet and repeat.
- 5). Repeat both sides of the step touch by doing 8 reps. Use the step touch as a warm-up or cool down movement. It is not high impact and should not increase the heart rate. The step touch is medium to low activity movement.
