Proof Of Insurance

• When you are pulled over by a police officer in Delaware, you are required to present valid proof of insurance. Your proof of insurance is usually a card or a piece of paper sent to you by your insurance company.
  
  

First Offense

• For a first-time offender in Delaware, as of 2010, if you are convicted of driving without insurance you will be subject to at least a $1,500 fine.
  
  

Subsequent Offenses

• As of 2010, every subsequent offense occurring within three years of your first offense is a fine of at least $3,000 and suspension of your driving privileges for six months.
