Beaches

• The beaches of Runaway Bay call to the bay's visitors. As activities go, it's hard to beat time spent on these bleached white, sandy stretches of beach. Enjoy some time in the sun, interrupted by frequent dips into the bay's perfectly aquamarine water. Grab a book, and read until you fall asleep. Enjoy an early morning or late-night jog along the moist sand near the shoreline. The snorkeling comes especially recommended. Consider Palm Beach, or nearby Puerto Seco Beach. It's possible you may never experience beaches as perfect as these again.
  
  

Caverns

• The Runaway Bay area includes the somewhat mysterious Green Grotto Caves. Exploring these inland caverns will reveal tree roots from the jungle growth above poking through the rock; lime and rock formations; and natural shapes in crystal, some of which resemble animals. The caves lead to a sizable underground lake filled with blind fish. Request a guide when you visit the caves, as they are extremely dark. A guide can also provide information about the caves that you'd otherwise miss.
  
  

Nightlife

• When it comes to nightlife, Runaway Bay is still mostly a peaceful place apart from the hubbub of the world. Still, it boasts a plethora of restaurants, mostly hotel- and resort-based, that offer a wide variety of cuisine. The hotels and resorts are constantly offering shows and cabarets, and discos are plentiful -- so enjoy a night out dancing.
