  Aman resorts is group of small, exclusive luxury hotels located in about a dozen countries around the world. The resort chain was started in 1988 in Phuket, Thailand. The word "Aman" means "peace" in Sanskrit. Today, there are a number of Aman resorts loated in Asian countries, including Thailand, Indonesia, the Phillipines and Cambodia. Each resort location is different and focuses on blending into the local setting and reflecting the indigenous culture. In keeping with their efforts at creating exclusivity, each resort location typically has only about 50 rooms available. Many of the resorts feature private villas, bungalows and tents.

  The Aman hotel in Phuket, Thailand is called "Amanpouri." It is built on the site of a previous coconut plantation. The resort features 32 villas situated on 24 hectares of land overlooking the pristine "Pansea Beach." Each villa comes with its own swimming pool, kitchen and living room. Guests can also enjoy a spa, library, tennis courts and two restaurants in the hotel.

It is also close to Bali's main shopping districts. The resort features a full spa, large 30-meter-long swimming pool and all-weather tennis courts.
