How to Honor a Transplant Donor
- 1). Choose a favorite tree, and plant two of them next two each other. Each tree represents the two lives that are involved.
- 2). Engrave a plaque with the date that the transplant took place. If you are able to find information on the donor, add his name to the plaque. Place this plaque near the two trees. If you are unable to find information on the donor, then engrave a favorite poem into the plaque.
- 3). Create a memorial garden to honor the donor’s memory. Choose plants that are vibrantly colored such as bougainvillea, zinnias, day lilies that can represent life. You can also choose plants that create serenity and give the garden a spiritual touch such as peonies, roses, and lavenders. Use the color combination that creates the mood that you want.
- 4). Choose the day that the transplant took place and celebrate it each year. Throw a party in honor of the donor. Perhaps at the end of the party, you can release balloons into the air. It is a fun way to celebrate.
- 5). If you are artistic, create a painting. It can be an abstract piece of work that has different colors and shapes. Paint the emotions that you are feeling. Don’t judge yourself. Let your heart guide you. Frame it and put it in a room where you can reflect on the donor’s life.
- 6). Write a poem, or frame your favorite poem in an elegant frame. Let it symbolize the life of the donor.
