Hemorrhoids are classified into two types, the external and internal.
They are differentiated by their location.
External are the ones you can touch and feel and are visible to the naked eye.
It is usually located outside the anus.
On the other hand, internal ones are located inside the rectum.
They are the ones which you can not feel or see.
This type of hemorrhoids usually occurs inside the rectal canal.
The major cause of this is too much straining during bowel movement.
The veins inside the anal canal tend to swell and clot because of the straining.
Basically, the veins located at the walls of the rectal canal become enlarged.
People who are suffering from this do not really feel its existence however, they may notice symptoms associated with this condition.
One may notice bleeding during bowel movement.
Blood is usually found either on the tissue or in the toilet bowl.
When this problem worsens, there is a tendency that the hemorrhoids will bulge out of the anus.
This advanced stage of internal hemorrhoids is generally referred to as prolapsed.
Sometimes people mistake them as external, but this is not considered as such.
There are different treatments available for this type.
