    • 1). Turn on your cell phone using the "End/Power" button. If you require a password to open the functionality of the cell phone, enter that information to have complete access to your phone's features.

    • 2). Tap on the camera/video application, if you are using an Android phone or smartphone. Other phones may have a camera button on its side or an on-screen button that you can scroll to and click.

    • 3). Press the record button to take the picture or video. Some phones will have the option of switching between the camera and video. If this is the case, change it to the video setting to record video.

    • 4). Tapping on the record button a second time will end the video and save it to your photo album, which you can access at any time.

    • 5). Navigate to your address book and select the contact to which you wish to send the video. Once you have the contact open, tap on "Send Message." This will open up a text-message screen where you can send a message to that chosen contact.

    • 6). Touch the camera symbol, or button, to send a picture or video to the contact. Some phones will have an option below the text bar to "Send Picture/Video." Clicking on this should take you to your photo album where your videos and pictures are stored.

    • 7). Select the video that you wish to send. This should automatically take you out of the photo album and back into the text-message screen for the chosen contact.

    • 8). Verify that the chosen video is what you intend to send. The video will show up as a thumbnail in the body of the text or as a file name.

    • 9). Choose "Send" or "Send Message" and your message, along with your chosen video file, will be sent to the recipient.

Check to see that the file sent by keeping the text message screen open until you get a message that the message has been sent or until you see the message show up in the window. According to Trautschold and Mazo, when you send the message on the iPhone 4, your message will begin a "threaded" discussion when sent and will show up as a green bubble, if sent correctly. If there are any problems sending the video, your phone will give you a pop-up a message saying so. Video files can be quite large, so sending may take longer than you expect.

Exit the text message window and power down your phone when you are finished using it.
