Does the MagicJack Work on Multiple Computers?
- To move magicJack from one computer to another, turn off your computer and disconnect the telephone connected to the magicJack's phone jack. Unplug the device from your computer's Universal Serial Bus (USB) port, then power off the other computer you want to connect the magicJack to. Plug the device into the other computer's USB port then turn on the computer. The other computer will recognize the magicJack and the device's software will load automatically.
- MagicJack is compatible with Windows 7, Vista and XP as well as Mac systems with an Intel processor. The device is not compatible with older versions of the Windows operating system including Windows 98, ME, 2000 or 95. The magicJack is also not compatible with older Mac systems including PowerPC and Motorola processors.
- You can only use one magicJack device on a computer at a time. Attempting to use more than one device will cause a hardware conflict to develop within your computer and none of the magicJack devices will work. Each magic jack requires its own computer and a free USB port.
- The magicJack works on any computer that has access to a high-speed Internet connection including one at a hotel, lodge, coffeehouse, Internet café as well as convention centers containing Internet access.
