How to Help Start a Weed Eater
- 1). Place the Weed Eater trimmer on flat ground and position yourself on the left side of the motor. The left side of the motor is the side with the pull string.
- 2). Press the primer button six times. The primer button is located on the back of the motor. It is a clear plastic bulb. When you press on the primer button it forces fuel into the carburetor.
- 3). Push the choke level downward until the level rests over "full choke." This supplies additional fuel into the engine while the trimmer warms up.
- 4). Squeeze the throttle trigger all of the way in for the rest of the starting process. Expect the engine to rev quickly upon starting.
- 5). Pull the pull string sharply until it sounds like the engine wants to start. Do not pull the rope more than six times.
- 6). Move the choke lever up one position to "half choke," then pull the pull rope again until the engine starts to run.
- 7). Run the trimmer at full speed for 60 seconds, then turn off the choke. Use the trimmer, as needed.
