  Out of RIU's 100 resorts, four are located in Jamaica: Hotel Riu Montego Bay, ClubHotel Riu Negril, Hotel Riu Palace Tropical Bay and ClubHotel Riu Ocho Rios. The resort chain prides itself on environmental awareness, with conservation initiatives in energy, paper, waste management and water use. Three of RIU's hotels and resorts in Jamaica are rated one star by Frommer's Travel Guide.
  
  

ClubHotel Ochos Rios

• One of the Frommer's recommended resorts is Clubhotel Ochos Rios, located on Mammee Bay. The hotel is larger than any other in Ochos Rios, according to Frommer's, and houses 856 guests rooms. Choose from three categories of guest rooms: a standard guest room, which offers either ocean view or oceanfront, a junior suite or full suite. Both the junior suite and full suite offer ocean views, while the full suite is available with or without an open-air Jacuzzi.
  
  The hotel offers an all-inclusive option, which takes care of all meals, as well as 24-hour snacks and beverages, an in-room mini-bar and liquor dispenser, non-motorized water sports, an introductory SCUBA lesson in the pool and nightly entertainment. The hotel houses seven restaurants, including an Italian and Japanese, and six bars, including a swim-up bar.

ClubHotel Riu Negril

• Riu owns two properties in Negril, located on the western tip of Jamaica, ClubHotel Riu Negril and Hotel Riu Palace Tropical Bay. Both resorts offer an all-inclusive option and are rated one star by Frommer's.
  
  ClubHotel Riu Negril is the larger and newer of the two resorts. It houses 420 guest rooms, which are either double rooms or suites. The suites feature an integrated lounge area with a sofa that is separated from the bedroom by steps. The hotel boasts four restaurants, including a poolside grill and steakhouse, and five bars.
  
  Take a dip in one of two swimming pools, one with a jacuzzi, or watch your child in the designated children's pool. The hotel also offers a children's playground and "RiuLand" kids club as entertainment for the little ones. For adults, relax in the Renova Spa, dance the night away in the hotel's nightclub or gamble on the slot machines in the games room.

Hotel Riu Palace Tropical Bay

• The second Negril resort, Hotel Riu Palace Tropical Bay, is marginally more upscale than ClubHotel Riu, according to Frommer's, but it's smaller and older, having opened in 2001 as the first Riu property in Jamaica. The hotel was renovated in 2008.
  
  The hotel offers three categories of guest rooms: Doubles, junior suites and suites. Both the doubles and junior suites feature its own balcony or terrace, while the full suites have a bathroom with hydromassage bathtub and shower cabin.
  
  There are five on-site restaurants, one being fusion food, and four bars. Go for a swim in one of two swimming pools, one with a jacuzzi. As with the resort's other Negril property, there is a children's swimming pool, a playground on the beach and a daily entertainment program for kids up to age 12.
  
  The two Negril hotels sit next to each other and guests are encouraged to visit both properties, according to Frommer's. Adults staying at Tropical Bay receive free entrance to ClubHotel Riu's nightclub, open six nights a week.

Hotel Montego Bay

• In the Northwest portion of Jamaica lies Mahoe Bay, just a short distance from the popular tourist destination of Montego Bay. Here you'll find Riu's final Jamaican resort, Hotel Montego Bay, which opened in 2008.
  
  Choose from either the double rooms or suites that make up the hotel's 681 guest rooms. The suites include a bathroom with hydro-massage bathtub, shower cabin and bidet, as well as a lounge area separate by steps.
  
  The property houses four restaurants, including Italian and Asian cuisines, and four bars. There's just one general swimming pool, as well as a designated children's pool. The hotel also offers a children's playground and daily entertainment for ages 4-12.
