Instructions to Install a Cold Air Intake CFO RSX
- 1). Remove the stock air box from inside the RSX's engine compartment. It should be screwed onto the fender and connected to the stock intake hose.
- 2). Detach the front bumper from the car. Remove the six plastic clips at the top and the six more clips and six screws on the bottom. Lift the bumper off the hooks it hangs on below the headlights.
- 3). Disconnect the stock washer fluid bottle. Drain the fluid into a clean container. Remove the grommets and pumps from the bottle and install them onto the new bottle that comes with the kit.
- 4). Cut a hole in the car's fender well that is large enough to allow clearance of the new intake system.
- 5). Install the new washer fluid bottle in the car using the same screws and rubber bolt as with the stock bottle. Fill the bottle with the old washer fluid.
- 6). Attach the intake system's flexible arm onto the intake and feed the assembly up to the throttle body. Place the car in fifth gear to give yourself clearance to feed it past the transmission. The bracket holding the battery cable may be in the way, so you might need to bend it or cut it off.
- 7). Remove the stock hoses connected to the engine throttle body. Install the kit's hoses to connect the throttle body and intake assembly.
- 8). Install the filter onto the intake. Make sure everything is securely fastened. The new intake should be positioned near the lower part of the fender. Reattach the bumper.
- 9). Unplug the negative battery cable and leave it disconnected for five minutes. Reconnect the cable, start the RSX and let the engine idle for 15 minutes to ensure the new intake system works.
