How to Refurbish Old Acid Batteries
- 1). Wash off the battery with baking soda and water.
- 2). Scrub the battery with dish soap if there is grease and oil on the battery.
- 3). Remove the cell covers with a screwdriver. Set the covers aside until later.
- 4). Clean the area around the openings. Vacuum the battery with a shop vacuum and remove the battery cell covers.
- 5). Fill the holes in the batteries with distilled water. Charge the battery slowly to 2.4v to 2.5v with a charger.
