Soft Jeweled Play Collar

• 1). Use the tape measure to determine the length around your dog's neck. Cut a piece of leather to that measurement plus five inches in length and about five inches in width. Measure just the back of the dog's neck and find the area where that will be on the leather. This is where you will set the jewels in a pleasing pattern.
  
  
• 2). Use the Bedazzler to set faux jewelry or nail heads into the leather. It isn't necessary to place the jewels all the way around the neck if they will get lost in the ruff at the side and under the neck, but you can if you think that's what your dog would like better.
  
  
• 3). Cut a piece of buckram two inches wide by the length of the dog's neck and glue it inside the leather, right in the middle. Fold the leather over the buckram on both sides so that it meets in the middle. Glue it all securely with leather glue. This is only a fashion collar and is not meant for restraining the dog in any way.
  
  
• 4). You will have room at the end of the leather on both sides to attach a buckle. Poke a hole for the buckle's tongue and glue the leather around the buckle. Secure the buckle and leather with a heavy duty staple. On the other side, trim the excess leather and use the awl to poke holes for the collar.
  
  

Collar to Tail Jewelry

• 1). Measure the dog from collar to tail. Add two inches for ease, less if you have a very small dog and an inch more for a large dog. Cut a length of elastic the measure around the base of your dog's tail plus an inch or two of ease. Cut a second piece to fit under the collar, which only needs to be three inches long.
  
  
• 2). Cut a long length of metal beading wire. Feed on two crimpers. Crimpers are small metal pieces that seal the wire shut so beads don't fall off. Pass the wire around the middle of the three-inch length of elastic. It will be perpendicular to the elastic, which will be attached under the collar. Pass the short end of the wire through the two crimpers and use your pliers to squeeze the crimpers shut and tight around the elastic. This attaches the wire to the elastic and makes the wire secure so you can start beading.
  
  
• 3). Begin beading at the opposite end of the wire from the elastic section and continue until you have reached the length that will reach the base of your dog's tail . This is how to secure the open end of the beaded section to the elastic that will pass around your dog's tail: pass two crimpers onto the wire. Wrap the wire around the middle of the other piece of elastic, and pass the wire back through the crimpers. Use your pliers to press them shut. You'll have a short piece of elastic at the top of the beading and then a longer piece at the end. The elastic is perpendicular to the beads.
  
  
• 4). Use Velcro under the collar to attach the short piece of elastic. This attaches the beaded line to the collar and the attachment is hidden under the collar. Use Velcro as closures on each end of the longer tail piece of elastic. This will allow this piece of elastic to fit loosely around your dog's tail. Velcro will easily break free if your dog snags her back jewelry. The tail section that is fastened with Velcro should not be too tight.
  
  

Paw Bracelets

• 1). Measure your dog's ankles.
  
  
• 2). Cut a section of elastic beading thread and make four paw bracelets to fit. Tie a secure knot and put a drop of leather glue to secure the tie.
  
  
• 3). When finished, you will see the collar, a line of beads down the dog's back, and then it ends with the elastic fixed loosely around the dog's tail. Make a price sheet and attach it to your dog's collar. When he is out strutting his canine couture people will ask where it came from. Your dog can go into business if he wishes to sell his jewelry.
