Mixed in with the excitement of preparing for your ski vacation, many of us find we have a dilemma of what exactly we need to pack.
Even when we have a good idea of what we need to take, we may then have to consider how we are going to get all the equipment to our holiday destination.
After all, skis can not be easily folded in to a suitcase, and can be a bit of a nuisance if you intend flying.
A solution to this problem is to find out what is available at your ski resort beforehand.
If there is a rental shop located in the area, and you are happy to use rented equipment, hiring skis, poles and boots will save you the trouble of packing your own and make travelling a lot less stressful.
If you are not keen on using rental supplies, another possibility is to check to see if there are any local ski shops close to your resort.
Check their prices for buying ski equipment and also ask them if they, or another shop nearby, buys used ski equipment.
This way, you may be able to sell your skiing equipment, once you come to the end of your holiday, for slightly less that you paid for it.
The clothing you will need for your skiing holiday can also be a problem to pack.
Bulky ski jackets, ski suits, sweaters and thermal gear can take up a lot of space in your suitcase.
Here is an idea that could resolve this situation.
Contact the staff at the resort you will be staying at.
Explain to them that you need to ship a package to them, addressed to yourself, so that the package will be there upon you arrival.
Ask if the desk staff will keep the parcel safe for you until you get there.
If they agree, box up your bulkier items of clothing and post to yourself at the resort address.
It is a good idea to insure the package, just in case of a problem.
So as you can see, a bit of forward planning can definitely reduce the worry of packing for that much anticipated ski trip.
