PIAA Baseball Rules & Regulations
- Games last nine innings with extra innings in the event of a tie. The team that scores first wins.
- Hitters are allowed three strikes before they are kicked out of the batter's box and the next batter proceeds. Four balls is a walk for the batter to first base.
- The pitcher must pitch behind the mound and may not intentionally hit the batter. Any reasonable doubt and the umpire can use his or her discretion to remove the pitcher from the game.
- Coaches are required to act with professionalism and class. Standard coaching ethics are highly encouraged. The umpire may remove any coach unwilling to follow the rules.
- The base runner must run from first to second to third and finally home base before a run is awarded. The base runner must touch each base before touching the following base.
