Painting Wicker Furniture Black
- 1). Brush the wicker furniture to remove any loose paint from crevices. Work to loosen dust and debris from the cracks of the furniture also.
- 2). Vacuum the furniture well with the brush attachment to remove all dust and debris completely.
- 3). Spread the drop cloth in a well-ventilated area -- outdoors if possible -- on a dry and moderately warm day with little or no wind. Set the wicker furniture onto the drop cloth.
- 4). Shake the can of primer vigorously for about three minutes to mix the contents thoroughly. Hold the spray primer about 14 inches away from the furniture and press the nozzle to spray the wicker. Work from left to right and right to left to coat the furniture thoroughly. Allow the primer to dry for at least one hour before applying the paint.
- 5). Shake the can of black spray paint vigorously for three minutes. Hold the spray paint about 14 inches away from the furniture and apply the paint to the wicker. Apply enough paint to cover the wicker thoroughly, but don't apply paint to the point that it begins dripping from the wicker. Work until you coat the wicker completely.
- 6). Allow the furniture to dry for approximately 24 hours.
