After writing his first 16 bar verse at the age of 9 and honing his craft for the next 5 years David formed a group of his own with a childhood friend under the name Styxx 'N Stones during their freshmen year of high school. Although Styxx 'N Stones never officially disbanded they both gradually went their seperate ways before ever releasing any full legnth projects after Styxx enlisted in the Navy and Stones chose to keep pursuing a career in music.

However, since it's 2006 release remixed versions of songs featured on the original mixtape such as, "Get wit it" featuring fellow Brownsvillian Smoothe da Hustler began to surface online via various hip hop blogs.

In January of 2009 David Stones signed with the Long Island, New York based management company Gallic Wars Mixtapes. Since his signing David has appeared on numerous Mixtape covers and co-hosted alongside radio personalities like New York's own Angela Yee & North Carolina's Nikki Nicole to name a few. In celebration of all his accomplishments throughout '09 he partnered his entertainment company District of Hip Hop with Musiconplay.net and Gallic Wars Mixtapes to release "The 2009 Collection" mixtape which featured freestyles, songs and interviews released during that year.

After taking the whole year of 2011 off to gain full control of his career behind the scenes David Stones is now poised to take 2012 by storm. During his brief hiatus David says he took more time to assess his life and figure out which direction he wanted his career to go in while writing and recording hundreds of new songs. Escaping outside pressure Stones says he is now in a position where he makes music he feels 100% comfortable with and has total creative control. For fans anticipating the reemerge of his signature gravely voice "The Stepping Stone: All or Nuthin" is slated to drop in the spring of 2012 and will surely be one to remember.
