The World Leaders -The World Loves "Super Sarko," The President Of France

2
Nicolas Sarkozy, the dynamic leader of France, at 55, is one of the youngest of world leaders today.
His vision for his nation is far ahead of times, yet there is no doubt in the minds of his admirers and supporters he would achieve it within our times.
The child born to a Hungarian immigrant and French mother of Greek Jewish origin, on 28 January 1955, was named : Nicolas Paul Stephane Sarkozyde Nagy-Bocsa.
Quite an aristocratic sounding name ! Nicolas Sarkozy yearned for the love of his father as a child while growing up in Paris.
The father abandoned the family when 'sarko' was only four.
"What made me who I am now is the sum of all the humiliations suffered during childhood", he said later.
As a young boy and teenager, he felt inferior in relation to his wealthy classmates.
Despite his mediocrity in learning class lessons and his unobtrusive demeanour he took to student activities in a big way.
He almost always approached a given problem from an entirely different angle.
His ways are usually fresh, different, untried and untrod and unusually pragmatic in life.
His father was estranged from family for years, but Sarkozy reconciled with him.
The old man attended the Presidential Inaugural ceremony.
His wife, Cecilia Ciganer-Albeniz left him for a French-Moroccan national, Richard Attlas.
Yet, he found reconciliation and she came back to him in a supportive style.
She took an active part in the 'freeing of Bulgarian Medics'.
Now she returns to Attlas with a publicly made decent divorce in her hand.
"I don't see myself as a first lady," she has been quoted as saying.
"That bores me.
I am not politically correct.
" Two notable recent events shows her inherent reticent qualities and the lack of political pushiness.
She avoided having tea with President Bush when they visited America and were guests of Bush family.
She did not go to receive Bulgaria's highest award for her role in freeing the six medics from a Libyan jail.
For the French people, a leader's sex life has no bearing on capabilities of managing the country.
Public trust and man's lust are kept separate.
The French were surprised by the fuss made over the Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky affair.
"If the President or any man has sex with someone discreetly, it's a good thing," said a French lady.
"Because men are unpleasant if they don't get enough sex.
" The Frenchwomen criticise Cécilia not for being unfaithful.
But for the openness of it all and lack of discreetness in the affair.
Never before has a first lady publicly humiliated a president.
In education he was a failure at first and then a 'mediocre' student.
But he entered to read 'law' and earned his master's degree.
He took his first basic step in politics at Université Paris X Nanterre.
Paris X is famous as the starting place for student movement and is still a strong berth for leftist student unions.
This quiet student did not follow the beaten track.
Sarkozy joined the 'right-wing' union of the university.
The moderate student has found his niche and the workaholic began blithely to be very active.
Anita Hausser, his biographer: "He's hyperactive, he's ambitious, he's a heavy worker, a workaholic, he never rests.
" At 17, he got into politics through conservative youth organizations.
At 22 won a seat on the municipal council in the posh Paris suburb of Neuilly-sur-Seine.
And at 28 he was elected its mayor.
He was mayor of this rich suburb of Neuilly for 19 long years.
Then became interior minister in 2003.
And finance minister in 2004.
Sarkozy's commitment, dedication and capacity for hard work made him a Chirac protégé.
He even dated Chirac's youngest daughter, Claude.
Though Sarkozy was an acolyte of President Chirac, he did not flinch from supporting an opponent at a presidential election and earn the wrath of his mentor for life.
Yet, Chirac was positioned to support Sarkozy in his bid for presidential candidate of his political party.
That shows the power of political acumen and mobility of our bundle of action.
His candour is exemplified when as Minister of Interior, under President Chirac, he declared in a foreign public speech: "It is bad manners to embarrass one's allies or sound like one is taking delight in their troubles.
This reflected on Chirac's attitude towards Iraq war.
Jacques Chirac was fuming and frothing and reacted in private that Sarkozy's speech was "a shameful act".
Yet it was truth personified.
In the afternoon of his Presidential Inaugural Ceremony he flew out to Berlin to meet with the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel.
He preferred to get on with the job of 'world politics' .

rather than relax and celebrate his'climb of greasy pole' withclose friends.
Voter turnout at his election was projected as at an unprecedented 85 per cent.
For forty years, after General Charles de Gaulle, France did not see this turnout level at any presidential election.
"The president of the republic must love and respect all the French," said Sarkozy, in his victory speech, "I will be the president of all the French people.
" His choice of Ministers for his government was out of the ordinary.
This right leaning conservative president chose, from the left, a socialist, Bernard Kouchner, as his foreign minister, purely on merit.
As a result the socialist was expelled from the Socialist party.
Kouchner is the left-wing founder of,3rd world famous,Medecins Sans Frontieres.
The presidential opponent Segolene Royal lost her Economic adviser, when he was chosen as a minister.
In addition Sarkozy chose two more ministers from the left.
Being a fervent follower of meritocracy he broke the ranks of the left wing .
.
.
a case of two birds with one stone in real political life.
Rachida Dati, his choice as justice minister is a woman of north-african origin.
The first woman of her origin in the french cabinet.
A very strong signal to all racists of the world.
Shortly after he assumed duties as French president he stepped out impatiently with his preferred negotiations.
The 40 year-civil-war between left-wing guerrilla group, 'farc' and government of Columbia drew his attention first.
He helped president Alvaro Uribe and supported General Chavez of Venezuela, in formulating guidelines for negotiations with notorious 'farc'.
Prodded by Sarkozy, Colombian President Alvaro Uribe freed 177 FARC guerrillas in June, including a high-ranking senior official named Rodrigo Granda.
Release of these guerrillas was a prelude to promised release of hostages, despite the June killings of 11 politicians, kidnapped by 'farc' in 2002.
In July 2007 he announced,France and EU together have succeeded in freeing the doctor and five Bulgarian nurses.
They were condemned to death by Libya.
He negotiated successfully but passed on the credits to others.
That's magnanimity without reserve.
The meeting with president Vladimir Putin in Moscow is another example of Sarkozy's self-style in negotiations.
Both presidents were to meet in Moscow only for the second time.
But a week ahead Sarkozy accused Russia of "complicating" the world's problems.
In addition he told the Russian official newspaper, Rossiyskaya Gazeta, in an interview to be published on the day before the historic meeting: "Between resignation and war - two words which are not in my vocabulary - there is a responsible attitude: increasing sanctions to bring Iran to reason, but also openness to dialogue if Iran chooses to respect its obligations.
" These are not placating words to be addressed on the day prior to a scheduled summit.
As a conciliatory measure, Alexander Grushko, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, had to respond: "There is no contradiction between the desire of the French to reinforce their friendship with the United States and the development of their traditional partnership with us.
" That clearly shows the gumption of the man.
Could this be a sign and sample of clever international political manoeuvre the world could anticipate in the near future? For years the French Muslim community had no structure or group to voice their ideas.
They were being funded by foreign elements that gave rise to national problems.
Sarkozy saw an opening, in among the Muslim community of France, where others were blind.
He grabbed the opportunity with both hands and helped establish, private non-profit:Conseil français du culte musulman ("French Council of the Muslim Faith").
The French government is now funding this organization and thereby removed most foreign influences.
Another innovative solution to a perennial national problem.
I am sure our Super Sarko would join forces with progressive politicians to lead France to peace and prosperity in our life times.
