Tough Questions About God (Part 3) - Why is the Bible Non-Scientific?
This is part 4 of a 10 part series that tackles tough questions about God and His apparent absence from our world today.
The question: "Why is the bible non-scientific?" I've heard this question being asked dozens of times, and it seems like a tough question at first...
if you don't know God that is.
You see the bible is not nor was it ever meant to be a science book.
Science and the bible actually very rarely agree with each other.
One of the reasons for that is our science is based on this decaying physical world and laws, while God and the bible are based on the eternal spiritual world.
Science and the Bible On those rare occasions where science and the bible do agree on each other, mankind loves to take all the credit for discovering something that God revealed to us thousands of years ago.
Take the earths shape.
Can you guess who discovered that the earth is circular in shape? I'll bet you said or thought of Christopher Columbus.
If you did, then you were wrong! Don't worry, 99% of the people reading this article would have said the same thing.
It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in (Isaiah 40:22) God revealed to us that the earth is circular in shape thousands of years before the birth of Christopher Columbus.
So why did you think it was Christoper Columbus and not God who discovered the earth's correct shape? Why didn't we consult the bible and seek out what God revealed to us? Probably because you were taught to think that in school.
Our school system is tightly weaved with the science community, and science DOES NOT want you to believe in God.
Why else would the public school system completely remove creation and what God revealed in the bible from it's curriculum? Conclusion Science and the Bible belong as much together as Willie Nelson and Britney Spears (you catch my drift).
The Bible is an accurately detailed historical book that has supernatural predictions and revelations, that can not be explained...
other than it was given to us by a higher power.
If the science world, and our school systems want to dismiss this as folly, or remove it from our knowledge, then that could only be the work of Satan himself! The spirit world, God, and Satan do exist whether we like it or not.
Which side are you on? May God bless you, Oliver Hope
