How to Make a Fabric Pin Board
- 1). Cover one side of an 11-by-14-inch pressboard with a liberal amount of hot glue. Place a 1/2-by-11-by-14-inch foam pad over the pressboard so the edges line up evenly and press the pad against the hot glue.
- 2). Iron the fabric to remove any wrinkles. Spread 1 yard of fabric over the foam-covered pressboard. Insert 2 straight pins along each side of the board to hold the fabric in place.
- 3). Flip the board over and pull the edges of the fabric taut and against the back of the board. Staple the fabric to the pressboard with a heavy-duty staple gun, 2 inches of space between each staple. Trim away the excess fabric, flip the board over and remove the straight pins.
- 4). Stretch a strip of 1-inch-wide satin ribbon across the fabric, 2 inches from the edge along, one of the 14-inch-sides, so it overlaps the edge of the board. Cut the ribbon leaving 1 inch of the ribbon on the backside of the board. Add a small dot of hot glue under the ribbon on each end. Press the ends of the ribbon to the back of the board.
- 5). Stretch a strip of the ribbon across the first ribbon so that it is 2 inches from the edge of the shorter side. Attach the ends of the ribbon to the back of the board with hot glue.
- 6). Place a ribbon parallel to the shorter ribbon and 2 inches over toward the center of the board. Attach this ribbon in the same manner as the other ribbons.
- 7). Attach a ribbon across the middle of the board lengthwise. Hot-glue the ends of the ribbon to the back of the board.
- 8). Remove the clip or pin from the backside of 4 vintage clip-on earrings or broaches using a pair of pliers. Affix the flat end of a flat-head push pin to the back of each piece of jewelry using hot glue. Press the embellished pins at randomly into the pin board.
- 9). Cut a 24-inch-long piece of the 1-inch satin ribbon and turn the pressboard so that the long sides are horizontal. Flip the board over and measure in from each end 5 inches. Attach each end of the ribbon to the board at the 5-inch marks using hot glue.

Staple the ribbon onto the board with 3 staples for each end to hold it in place. Hang the fabric board on the wall by the ribbon.
