Topics for Speaking at a Marriage Seminar
- You must treat your spouse with respect. If you constantly insult and put each other down, you are not respecting each other. Teach attendees how to recognize when they are being disrespectful to their partner. Show them how to calmly talk their frustrations out with their spouse, instead of relating them in an impolite manner.
- Many couples lose track of each other with the everyday pressures of work, raising a family and maintaining a household. Emphasize the importance of making time for each other. Couples should make regular date nights with each other, and take time out of each day to reconnect. Educate your audience on the necessity of having “couple time” so they can keep the romance alive.
- Provide your audience with tips for strengthening their marriage. These can be small, everyday things, such as remembering to say “I love you” each day. Steps can also be more involved on a larger scale, such as admitting when their relationship needs help and agreeing to go to marriage counseling together.
- Money problems cause a great deal of stress for many couples. When one person loses their job, or if the couple is in a great deal of debt, it can place a huge financial burden on the family. This often leads to arguments, and for some even the end of a marriage. Teach your audience how to handle family finances together. Explain to them that each partner should always have a clear understanding of the couple’s financial status, so there are no uncomfortable surprises down the road.
