How to Remove Bugs From Ears
- 1). Buy a mineral oil such as Tree Spirit Mineral Oil or Kondrelmul Mineral Oil. The products are available from pharmacies or department stores. Make sure you buy a mineral oil that is safe for consumption in case it gets into your mouth by accident. Continue to Step 2 when you have a friend ready to help.
- 2). Place a cooking pot into the sink. Fill to the brim with hot water. Put the bottle of mineral oil into the water. Wait roughly eight minutes. Run hot water into the pot again. Allow an extra four minutes. Remove the oil and test the warmth. Let cool for two minutes if it is hot to the touch.
- 3). Fill the dropper with the mineral oil. Complete steps 3 to 5 while the oil is warm.
- 4). Lay down on a firm surface. A table or floor can be helpful. Position yourself with the bug ear upright. Pull your ear by the lobe out and upward to open the ear canal.
- 5). Fill the ear canal with the mineral oil. Your friend must preform this. Drop as much mineral oil as possible in to the ear, to the brim, if possible. Stay in that position without moving for roughly three minutes. The insect(s) from the ear will drown and float to the top of the ear.
- 6). Turn over to the opposite side. While still holding you ear, allow the liquid and bug(s) to fall out. After the mineral oil falls out, grab you ear lobe. Pull outward and inward to remove any remaining oil from the ear canal.
- 7). Use a cotton swab to remove any left-over mineral oil. Only complete this step if the insect(s) fell out with the oil. If you do not see a bug, make a doctor's appointment as soon as possible for extracting the bug(s) from your ear.
