If this is a health care system then it means that the health care system does not have a real system to heal sick people.
I have worked as a care giver for many years and I have been in rest homes and hospitals.
I have seen what food they feed patients and old people who suffer Alzheimer and other chronic diseases.
White bread, pasta, lots and lots of margarine, bad and toxic cooking oils and the list is still very long of what they were feeding people in rest homes and hospitals.
I am not saying that they should invest in organic food only as that would probably be too expensive and in the end of the day - rest homes are all privately owned and hospital are public funded, although you would think that the tax we pay should provide (if governments would know how to invest our tax money wisely) for the elderly and hospital patients, but none the less they could at least use more raw food like tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuces, and other raw vegetables that have not been cooked what so ever to feed patients.
White bread and pasta is not necessary either, I mean you could buy some brown rice, some organic eggs, and if you really need bread - use brown whole grain bread to feed them.
It is all about knowledge.
Many people do not know what they put in their stomachs thus just take food for granted and develop chronic diseases.
Once I have developed Crohn's disease I started avidly learning about nutrition because I do not like stuffing myself with medicine.
Crohn's made me taking 3 grams of Rafasal tablets for life so you can imagine how NOT appealing that was for me.
Once I was educated - or perhaps I should put it this way: The more I read and learn, the more I was educated and the more I knew about good and bad food, I was good without the Rafasal and I am now living for 9 years medicine free.
I make sure to avoid junk food like white bread and pasta and bad cooking oil, deep fried food and all that type of food.
It is really not that hard to provide for sick people with good nutritious food like brown rice, red potatoes, buckwheat pasta and raw vegetables.
These types of food can make a lot of difference in ones diet for the better and it does not cost a lot.
Even raw honey instead of regular honey which is heated.
