However, Varadero does not just offer beaches. There are many tour operators which offer day trips and overnight trips to various places in and near Varadero including boat tours, agricultural tours and sightseeing tours. Discover Jeep Tour

• The Discover Jeep Tour takes you around the Matanzas province in a 4x4 jeep and lasts a full day. The tour begins by exploring Mantanzas city where you will pass copious amounts of bridges, which have given Mantanzas the name "city of bridges" and "Venice of Cuba". Once out of the city, the route takes you through the countryside towards the Saturno Cave, a natural cavern filled with 20 feet of clear water. Along the way, keep an eye out for sugar cane fields, villages and exotic plants. At the Saturno Cave, take a swim in the water or walk around the cave's two galleries. After exploring the cave, choose one of many activities on offer including a ride along the Yumuri River in a motorized boat, or enjoy a horseback ride.
  
  

Sugar Tour

• The Sugar Tour aims to educate visitors about the Cuban sugar industry through a four hour tour which will start at the Jose Smith Comas sugar mill factory in Mantanzas. Accompanied by a tour guide, wander through the sugar cane fields, watch local workers cut sugar canes down using machetes, sample some Guarapo juice which is made from sugar cane, and take a glimpse at the mill's collection of steam locos. However, the main attraction of the tour is the 20th century steam train ride which goes through the countryside, passing sugar cane fields, banana trees and orange groves, towards Cardenas, one of Cuba's main sugar exporting towns. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the town and marvel at its historical monuments.
  
  

Varadero Boat Adventure

• The Varadero Boat Adventure begins at your hotel where you will be picked up and transported to the harbour of Varadero. After a brief introduction, climb aboard your own speed boat and ride the waves around the harbour for a couple of hours. The tour ends with a visit to a mini zoo which is home to many sea animals. After the zoo, visitors return to the harbour and back to their hotel. The tour takes place every day of the week and payment can be made in euros, US dollars or British pounds.
