The Tryall Club, Montego Bay, Jamaica

12
The Tryall Club in Montego Bay, Jamaica offers one of golf's truly unique experiences. Its golf course, designed by Ralph Plummer, plays a short 6,221 yards from the back tees for a par of 72. Those in the know consider it be one of the best golf courses in the Caribbean. For sure, it offers a truly memorable golfing experience. Nine of its 18 holes follow the shores of the Caribbean for more than a mile; the other nine meander through the lush, tropical hillside.

Fairways are tight and bordered by palms, greens are small and fast, and the sea breezes, stiff at times, call for some very interesting club selections; even on the inland holes water in the form of ponds, lakes and rivers is a major factor. The course is well known throughout the Caribbean and has hosted some prestigious international events, including the Johnnie Walker World Championships, Mazda Champions, Jamaica Classic and Shell's Wonderful World of Golf.

Even during the high season (mid-November through April), the course is never crowded. You can play at a leisurely pace and enjoy the unique and beautiful topography. For those of us who like to travel light (that's me), Tryall offers premium rental clubs, including Calloway and Cobra. Are you intrigued? You should be, it is after all one of Jamaica's top golf courses
