WHY LUDWICK MARISHANE IS EXTRAORDINARY
Ludwick Marishane invented DryBath when he was only 17 years old. DryBath is a revolutionary cosmetic product that enables one to freshen up and get clean without having to use water. It works like an antibacterial lotion, only that it's odorless, biodegradable and much, much cheaper.
DRYBATH AND OTHER ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Aside from inventing DryBath, Ludwick has also created his own biodiesel and healthy cigarette when he was in the ninth grade. In his 10th grade, Ludwick put together a mobile dictionary and nearly published a security magazine. But it was during his 11th year that his invention caught the public eye; he invented DryBath after a friend wished that someone would invent something that would free them from having to bathe.
Using his cell phone, he researched Wikipedia and Google for existing inventions and found nothing. What he discovered was a dire need for a product that can help people stay hygienic without having to use water. For example, some people from poor communities develop Trachoma, an eye infection brought on by poor sanitation. What's even more shocking is the fact that Trachoma is treated simply by keeping the face clean.
DryBath has helped poor communities stay clean without having to depend on water. The water they will use for bathing can then be used for other purposes. The company is also in talks with airlines and military for making DryBath available to passengers and troops.
Headboy Industries LLC was founded by Ludwick in 2008 and is now the lone distributor of DryBath. The following year, Ludwick participated in the Brightest Young Minds event and became the youngest-ever delegate. In 2011, he was named the Global Student Entrepreneur of the Year and won the Lee Kuan Yew Global Business Plan Competition. That same year, he also received the Design Indaba MTN Special Award.
