Bachelor's Degree

• After graduating from high school, an aspiring child and adolescent psychiatrist will first need to obtain a bachelor's degree. While no specific curriculum is offered for becoming a child psychiatrist, an undergraduate major in psychology or biology will help prepare the student for the four years of medical school that will follow. Some universities specifically offer pre-medical programs which focus in on scientific and psychology coursework for students who desire to pursue a medical career.
