Ask any fitness expert about the effectiveness of hot bath as a preventive mechanism for muscle soreness and they will definitely have an opinion on it.
It might be either for or against the belief.
Many people also believe that it helps soothe the muscle pain.
The argument can go on for ever and is a never ending topic.
But then the truth lies somewhere in between all these opinions and individual beliefs.
If you try to understand how muscle soreness is caused, you will find that normally it is due to lack of sufficient blood supply as well as oxygen to the muscles especially when acids are formed due to exercising.
The hot bath stimulates the blood flow through out the body to all muscles included.
When this happens the soreness of the muscles disappears and the muscle returns to normalcy in no time.
Where ever the muscle is sore or painful, you can use hot water bag or splash the effected area with hot water.
This can help increase the blood flow and release the soreness as well as the pain.
You also feel very relieved and good too.
This practice has been in vogue for a very long time everywhere.
When you use hot water pack or hot water splash at the effected muscle spot, it not only helps relieve the tension and improve the blood flow, but the acids formed therein also gets flushed out.
Alternatively you can also use a combination of ice pack and hot water bag as required.
