Dressing To Complement Your Frame

1
There was a time when it was solely women who were in a never-ending search for the right dress that accentuated the positive and minimized the negative; even as men tended to live by three rules: it's clean, it fits and it's not missing a button. While finding those clothes in your closet that are clean and not in disrepair is usually not a problem, for many men, finding designer clothes that provide a good fit can sometimes prove challenging. And let's face it, if we're unsure of our appearances, we're not going to feel confident and it will affect the entirety of our day. Here are a few things to keep in mind so that you search for the right clothes won't become a massive undertaking. These tips will serve you well, no matter your size.

When it comes to casual men's clothing, there's only one rule: it must be comfortable. No matter how much you pay for those great cotton polos and khaki trousers, if they're too tight across the chest and shoulders, or if they're too short or uncomfortable in any way, you're not going to wear them. It's not going to prove to be a good investment for you. Men are just as preoccupied as women with those tags that tell the tale. It's easy to get wrapped up in that tiny print that says XL or XXL, but keep in mind, you can always cut that tag out (in fact, most men do). Forget what the declarations are, and go for the comfort factor. Check with the manufacturer's sizing guide and go with it. Pay attention to the length, too. We like the Voi men's polos - they're roomy, high quality and affordable. You can't go wrong with that!

One particular area men struggle with is shopping for dress shirts, especially long sleeve button downs. Often, a man picks a size and then runs with it without stopping to consider if the arms are long enough or if it's going to be comfortable once it's buttoned- especially around the collar. Of course, there must be enough fabric left in the length. Again, it's important to check with the design label's sizing charts. Not sure how to measure your arms and chest? Ask for help - it really is as simple as that. Get it right the first time so that your investment doesn't become a waste of hard earned money

Remember, too, that if it doesn't fit once it arrives or once you get it home, return it. The trick is to return it sooner rather than later, otherwise, with each passing day, it falls lower on your list of priorities. Before you know it, you have several shirts in your closet that are just taking up space. Take that extra ten minutes and return it for the right size.
