If you want to bring Christianity into your New Year's celebration, you need to find crafts designed especially to remind you and others of Christ, even in the midst of fireworks and parties.
  
  

Create-A-Calendar

• Create-A-Calendar is a New Year's craft from Theholidayzone.com that easily is converted to Christian principles. Theholidayzone.com suggests that you use a word processor to make a calendar form, but you also can purchase blank calendar sheets in stores or find templates online from websites such as wincalendar.com. Once you have the calendar sheets printed or purchased, you write in the names of the month and days and write in all the numbers. If you follow a particular denomination, you can write in events for the liturgical year. Then you attach these sheets to pictures based on religious themes. Keeping in mind that there are 12 months and 12 disciples of Christ, you might want to focus the images on Jesus' parables and teaching, but you can get as creative as you like. • Theideabox.com suggests making a resolution box as a New Year's craft. You simply take an old shoebox, cut a hole in the top and decorate it with leftover New Year's decorations. You can turn this concept into a Christian craft by making sure to write some scriptures about honesty, truth, forgiveness and coming to God on the box. Instead of general resolutions, you put only resolutions that involve your faith or relationship with God in the box (e.g., resolving to pray when you get anxious, give more to charity). If you like, you also can use the box to store items related to the resolutions (e.g., some money if you've resolved to spend more time serving God and less time serving riches). Timeline Banner

• A timeline banner is a simple piece of cloth attached to a wood dowel. On the banner, you place photos of yourself throughout your life with some glue. For each picture, you place the year the photo was taken under the picture--colored craft glue gel works well for this, but you also can use regular glue and glitter. On the top or bottom of the banner, you write the words from Revelation 21:5 (i.e., "Behold, I make all things new"). The nice thing about this banner is that you can use it like a tradition, adding a picture every year. When you look at the banner, it will remind you of everything you have gone through and how Christ has renewed you from year to year.
