How to Replace a Lost Indian Passport
- 1). Go to the Indian government's passport website and fill out form number one for replacing lost or damaged passports, new and re-issued passports. Attach the three required color photographs.
- 2). Decide which method you would like to use to apply for your passport. The Indian passport website lists four ways to apply: through a passport office, district passport cells, speed post centers or passport application collection centers.
- 3). Collect all required documents (proof of address, proof of date of birth and citizenship document), photos and completed forms and submit them along with the fee. The fee to replace a lost or damaged Indian passport is 2500 rupees.
- 4). Wait for your passport to come by postal mail. The wait will vary depending on what kind of passport service you applied for and how many other applications were received before yours.
