How to Combine FLV Files

    • 1). Download a video editing program to the computer, for example, the free Quicktime Player program that works on both Macs and PCs (see Resources).

    • 2). Double-click on the file once it has completely downloaded. Follow the menu commands to install the program onto the computer's hard drive. Restart a PC after the installation is completed.

    • 3). Download a Mac-based QuickTime plug-in program to the Mac's desktop, for example, the Perian program (see Resources). Double-click on the file once it has completely downloaded. Follow the menu commands to install the program into the Mac's OS X operating system. Restart the Mac after the installation is completed.

    • 4). Double-click on the video editing program's icon to launch it.

    • 5). Drag the FLV video file that is to be at the beginning onto the icon of the video editing program--the icon is on the desktop or in the Dock at the bottom of the screen or to the left of the screen.

    • 6). Wait for a video window of the FLV video file to appear on the screen. Click the "Forward" or "End" arrow on the video window's control panel.

    • 7). Drag the second FLV video file that is to follow the first FLV video file onto the icon of the video editing program. Wait for a video window of the FLV video file to appear on the screen.

    • 8). Click on the video window of the second FLV video file with the mouse. Press "Command+C (Mac)" or "Cntrl+C (PC) to copy the second FLV video to the computer's clipboard.

    • 9). Close the video window by clicking on the red button at the upper left corner (Mac) or the red "X" at the upper right corner (PC).

      Click on the video window of the first FLV video file. Press "Command+V (Mac)" or "Cntrl+V (PC) to paste the second FLV video file at the end of the first FLV video file. Repeat this entire procedure with additional FLV video files as necessary.

      Go to "File." Select "Save as" from the drop down menu. Rename the FLV video if desired in the "Name" column at the top of the window that appears.

      Click the "Locations" tab at the center of the window. Select "Desktop" from the drop down menu.

      Click the "Save" button at the bottom right of the window. Quit the video editing program after the icon of the FLV video file that was made from combined FLV video files is saved to the desktop.
