While specific corporate paralegal job duties may vary from firm to firm, the overall responsibilities are similar.

    Work with the IRS

    • Corporate paralegal job duties will most likely include working closely with the Internal Revenue Service. Specifically, the paralegal will file SS-4 Forms and obtain EIN numbers for limited liability companies, partnerships and possibly corporations.

    Prepare SEC Filings

    • Another corporate paralegal job duty will be to prepare SEC filings. Paralegals should be familiar with the Securities Acts for successful filing of these documents.

Other document preparation would include amendments, mergers and dissolutions of limited liability corporations, partnerships and corporations and withdrawal documentation. A corporate paralegal may be asked to assist with preparing tax returns, planning estates and establishing trust funds.
