A Hunting Guide for Canada
- All provinces of Canada require hunters to first go through the process of obtaining a licence, which involves safety testing and the payment of a small fee to purchase the licence. Licence prices start at $107 (small game) and go up to $400 (large game) for nonresidents. Resident licences start at $75 and go up to $150 for larger game animals.
- Hunting seasons for most animals take place in the fall, beginning in September and ending in early December. Some of the options are wild turkey, moose, deer, caribou, ducks, seals, elk, and in some areas, black bears.
- Canadian laws are very strict on the types of the weapons that can be brought across the border. They also require visitors to register their weapons prior to travel and do not permit the use of automatic weapons or handguns for hunting.
