    • One departmental scholarship limited to special education students at UNM is the Kiersten Keller Endowed Scholarship in Special Education. To be eligible, an applicant must be in his senior year and must be pursuing a concentration in the Mild to Moderate Retardation Subdivision of the UNM special education program. Preferential consideration may be given to non-traditional students. This scholarship may be renewable so long as a recipient continues to make progress toward his degree.

    Flonnie Ellen Matherly Endowed Scholarship in Elementary Education

    • The UNM College of Education awards the Flonnie Ellen Matherly Endowed Scholarship in Elementary Education each year, with preference given to a non-traditional student in Elementary Special Education who plans to teach in New Mexico upon graduating. To be eligible an applicant must be attending school on a full-time basis, must be able to demonstrate financial need and must also have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. This scholarship may be renewable as long as a recipient meets eligibility.

    • The Kim and Randy Youngblood and Julie and Chris Keller Endowed Scholarship in Special Education is available to special education students at the University of New Mexico who are specializing in the Mental Retardation and Severe Disabilities Subdivision. So long as a recipient continues to make academic progress toward her degree, she may be eligible to renew this scholarship each semester.
