Chocolate

• It takes approximately 20 mg/lb. of the dog's weight to begin causing seizures. For example, a 10-pound dog would need to eat 200 mg of chocolate to cause issues such as vomiting, diarrhea, seizures or death.
  
  

Antifreeze

• There are three stages that occur when a dog ingests antifreeze. During the first stage, the dog may suffer from depression, lack of appetite or vomiting, and seizures.
  
  

Distemper

• Distemper is a virus that causes a wide range of symptoms in affected dogs including discharge of the eyes or nose, diarrhea, fever, vomiting and seizures. Distemper can be treated but not all dogs will survive.
  
  

Rabies

• Rabies is a well-known virus that is often fatal. Dogs who have been infected with the rabies virus will go through several stages before suffering from seizures, followed soon after by death.
  
  

Epilepsy

• Epilepsy is a condition in which seizures are reoccurring due to an unknown malfunction of the brain. This condition can be due to congenital defects, diabetes or hypoglycemia, anemia, and heart, liver or kidney disorders.
