Mysterious UFO over Hawaii
This happened back in summer 2005 on the big island of Hawaii. I swear this story is true, but I have no idea what it is that was witnessed that night. My boyfriend-at-the-time and I were attending one of his friends' parties. It was dark out and me, my boyfriend, and several others decided to walk through his friend's orchard and take a look at the moon. It was a full moon, and to this day the largest moon I have ever seen, almost surreal.
We were all sort of huddled around in a group, looking at the moon and talking. Some of us were smoking cigarettes. It was all totally normal until at one point I remember looking up at the sky and being totally startled at what I saw. Next to the moon, just literally hanging motionless in the sky, was a large structure. The first thought that came to my mind was, Is it possible that I'm seeing the entire space station right now?
However, it didn't really look like the space station at all. Furthermore, it would have been impossible to see the space station as vividly as I was seeing this object. It's really hard for me, to this day, to describe what I saw: imagine you are staring at a huge, full moon, seemingly basketball-size at arm's length. Next to that, hanging motionlessly and soundlessly in the sky was an enormous craft/structure/object of some kind.
It had round windows and was shaped sort of like a huge, wide, rocket ship. Another really odd thing was that we were all talking and laughing, and then suddenly everything stopped and we all went silent when we spotted the object.
One of us said, "We should just go back to the house," and we all just turned around and left in silence. Once we got to the house, we all rejoined the party as if nothing at all unusual had happened. No one mentioned the incident at all.
I didn't even remember what happened until a few months later. I talked to my boyfriend at the time and asked if he remembered the same thing I did. He was quiet for a minute and then said he didn't want to talk about it. I wouldn't accept that and he eventually acknowledged that he remembered seeing something strange but did not want to speak about it further.
It still creeps me out every time I think about that night. My friend recently suggested that I go under hypnosis to get a clearer idea of what I saw and what happened, but honestly, I don't want to do it. I know something extremely strange happened and I just want to leave it at that.
