"Your Moment of Power" by Timothy Whiston
"Your Moment of Power" is an excellent e-book about the power of living in the present moment.
This is a familiar concept to most of us who are reading this review.
However it's a good bet that many of us have trouble with this practice or use it only inconsistently.
After having read "Your Moment of Power", I believe that this book will help reinforce your devotion to experiencing the now.
One of the great things about this book is the writing style.
Tim writes in a very conversational, easy to understand manner.
It's as if you are sitting across the table with him chatting over a cup of coffee.
This makes the concepts discussed in the book seem effortless instead of intimidating.
The e-book begins by stating the principle that time itself is an illusion.
Yes, that is a very bold statement.
And I can hear some of you saying, "But wait.
I know I have to get up at 7:00.
There are seven days in a week.
It takes a long time to accomplish something.
" But think about it.
We know that we create our own reality.
We know that we are spiritual beings experiencing the material world.
Therefore the constructs of "past" and "future" exist only within our ego self.
Our Higher Self is limitless and eternal.
Therefore we are always in the moment, right now, even if we are reminiscing about the past or daydreaming about the future.
Tim provides several very helpful mindfulness exercises which will assist the reader in staying in the present moment.
Without giving too much away I will say that these exercises are very simple and easy to follow.
They are also quite effective if practiced consistently.
We must remember that we aren't so much learning something new as we are remembering what is already there.
It has always been there and will always be there.
Another topic discussed is letting go of judgment and embracing acceptance.
This means no matter what you are experiencing just accept it.
Right and wrong, good and bad, lucky and unlucky -- these are all just human invented terms that do not exist anywhere except the ego.
This is something I wish to go into in much greater detail so I will leave it at that for now.
Finally, the overarching message of this e-book is that there is great power in the now.
You are a very powerful being whether you realize it or not.
You can have anything you desire.
You are the creator.
In fact you are creating every moment even if it is unconsciously.
So why not create a life you love? And yes, you CAN create the life of your dreams.
While I am sure you have read other books on these topics, the way that Tim presents them is very fresh and accessible.
Those who are new to the concept will find an enlightening introduction that will pave the way to further study.
Those of us who consider ourselves "old hats" will take away some choice tidbits for reflection.
Considering the price of this e-book, it is more than worth the purchase and you will find it a welcome and much read addition to your library.
There is no such thing as too much learning.
Think of this as another tool in your spiritual toolbox.
