Honda's deliberate entry into the SUV marketplace began with a rebadged Isuzu Rodeo, which bore the name "Honda Passport" at Honda dealerships from 1994 - 2002. CR-V

Honda's first original SUV is a unibody crossover vehicle. The CR-V has grown from a cute little runabout in its first generation to a grownup's crossover, currently in its third generation. Available in four trim levels: LX, EX, EX-L and EX-L with Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation. There's just one engine/transmission available, a 2.4 liter inline 4-cylinder engine that sends 180 hp and 161 lb-ft of torque through a 5-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is available on all trim levels. CR-V's wheelbase is 103.1", overall length is 179.3", height is 66.1", width is 71.6" and ground clearance is 6.7". Curb weight is between 3386 lbs and 3554 lbs, depending on equipment. Base prices start at $21,545 for a 2WD LX and go up to $29,745 for a loaded 4WD EX-L with Navigation. The EPA estimates that CR-V will achieve 21 mpg city/28 mpg highway/24 mpg combined with 2WD, and 21 mpg city/27 mpg highway/23 mpg combined with 4WD.

Element

As CR-V grew up, Honda realized that there was still a market for a quirky, fun runabout. So they took the CR-V platform and created the Element, one of the funkiest, most unique vehicles on any dealer's floor. Element is available in LX, EX and SC trim levels with base prices ranging from $20,525 for a 2WD LX to $25,585 for a 4WD EX with Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation. Every Element comes with the same 2.4 liter inline 4-cylinder engine tuned to produce 166 hp and 161 lb-ft of torque. A standard 5-speed automatic transmission sends power to the front wheels on all models, with 4-wheel drive available on LX and EX models. Element's wheelbase is 101.4", overall length is 170.4", height is 69.5", width is 71.6" and ground clearance is 6.9" (6.2" on SC), with curb weight ranging from 3515 lbs to 3648 lbs depending on equipment. Accord Crosstour

Honda calls the 2010 Accord Crosstour an "evolved crossover" -- a vehicle that's more stylish than an SUV and more versatile than a sedan. Based on the Accord Sedan, the Crosstour is more than a wagon or hatchback version of the popular 4-door. Available in well-equipped EX and leather-lined EX-L models, the 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour comes with a 3.5 liter V6 engine that sends 271 hp and 254 lb-ft of torque through a 5-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, and 4-wheel drive is available on EX-L models. Crosstour rides on a 110.1" wheelbase, with a 196.8" overall length, 65.7" height, 74.7" width and 8.1" ground clearance. Curb weight ranges from 3852 lbs to 4070 lbs depending on equipment. Base prices for the Accord Crosstour start at $29,670 for the 2WD EX, and go to $34,020 for the 4WD EX-L. Pilot

The Pilot underwent a makeover for the 2009 model year, and returns unchanged for 2010. Billed as an 8-passenger crossover vehicle, the Pilot is the largest SUV in the Honda fleet. Available in LX, EX, EX-L and Touring trim levels, Pilot carries base prices ranging from $27,895 to $38,645. Each Pilot comes stuffed with a 3.5 liter V6 engine that produces 250 hp and 253 lb-ft of torque. A 5-speed automatic transmission is standard, and 4-wheel drive is available at every trim level (front-wheel drive is standard). The Pilot's wheelbase is 109.2", overall length is 190.9", height is 72.7" (71.0" for LX), width is 78.5" and ground clearance is 8.0". Curb weight is between 4310 and 4608 lbs, depending on equipment. The EPA estimates that front-wheel drive Pilots will get 17 mpg city/23 mpg highway/19 mpg combined, and 4WD Pilots will get 16 mpg city/22 mpg highway/18 mpg combined.
