For many years computers have been inalienable attributes of our life.
Today it is difficult to imagine their absence both in offices of the very different companies and at our homes.

On that, how correctly your home computer place will be organized, depends how quickly you will get tired, and even the size of the risk to get some diseases, connected with tension and incorrect carriage.
So, we start to choose a computer desk for our house.
I hope, you have already got a computer and you have a place in the room, where you are going to work with it.
By the way, some doctors recommend to have bluish walls in such a room.

The first, what we pay attention to, is the size of the desktop.
A desk should have sufficient depth to secure the correct distance from your eyes to the monitor.
Usually this distance is equal to the length of your arm or some inches longer.
This rule is connected with the fact, that our eyes exert themselves more, when they examine something nearby.
A computer desk can have a special shelf for the monitor, but you should decide yourselves, whether you need it.
The second rule is: The center of the monitor must be a little bit lower than your eyes level, when you are sitting at the desk.
A desktop can be of any shape, you like, or that suits your room better.
In my opinion, it's very comfortable, when a desk has a concave shape in that place, where you sit.
It allows to put the elbows comfortably on the desk and to take the tension from the shoulders away.
Computer desks often have a sliding shelf for a keyboard and a mouse, which is under the desk's surface.
It's up to you, whether to use it or not.
It's only important to secure yourself a comfortable pose during your work, with a shelf or without it.
The next, that we pay our attention, is the presence of a special shelf or a pedestal for a tower.
Irrespective of the desk's design, the tower must have enough air for cooling.
One more aspect, it is desirable, that the vibrations from the tower don't pass to the main desk, where you sit.
For some people it's important, especially if you don't have the newest computer.
Whether you need additional shelves and pedestals for your computer, it's up to you to decide.
It depends on the fact, what you are going to place on the desk and what you are accustomed "to have at hand".
If you have got a printer, a scanner, a modem, a telephone, some speakers and your favourite cactus, you can't do without additional shelves.
I even shall not ask you, whether you have got a cat, which likes to warm itself at the monitor.
Think about this yourselves.
It's very convenient, when a computer desk has special chutes for arranging wires into them.
It not only adds your working place careful look, but also protects the wires from undesirable becoming tangled and from bends.
