6
    • 1). Shut down your laptop. Unplug the AC power adapter and all external data and networking devices. Remove the battery pack from the battery tray on the laptop's bottom side. The battery pack will be secured in place by one or two release buttons.

    • 2). Pull open the display panel as far as possible, or until it is situated in the 180-degree position. Use a small, flat-head screwdriver to pry out the rubber screw covers from the display panel's front bezel. The bezel is the main plastic piece on the front side of the LCD screen.

    • 3). Remove the Phillips-head screws revealed by the removed rubber screw covers. Use your fingers to pry the front bezel from the display panel, and set it aside.

    • 4). Grasp the top edge of the LCD screen and tilt it forward. Remove the Phillips-head screws from either side of the LCD screen's metal framing. Disconnect the large LCD ribbon cable from the connector on the screen's back side. Lift the entire screen out of its metal framing. Throw away the broken screen.

    • 5). Reverse this procedure to install the new screen, and reassemble your laptop.
