The Small Business Administration is an agency of the U.S. government. The SBA was formed in 1953 to assist small business owners with information and guarantees for loans. The SBA does not finance businesses, but rather it provides guarantees to lenders for loans to small businesses.

Two partner organizations of the SBA are:

• Small Business Development Centers
