How to Seal a Concrete Pond

5
    • 1). Remove all water from the pond.

    • 2). Leave the concrete to dry for 12 hours, and remove all dirt or debris using a vacuum cleaner.

    • 3). Mix one quart of white wine vinegar with ten gallons of water.

Use a mop to clean the sides and bottom of the pool.

    • 4). Rinse the concrete pool using a hose, and leave the concrete for another 12 hours to dry.

    • 5). Apply a thin layer of sealant over the concrete using a paintbrush, spreading it evenly.

Wear gloves and a face mask when handling sealant, as the fumes can be dangerous and the chemical is an irritant if it comes into contact with skin.

    • 6). Wait for the first layer to dry, and then apply another coat.

Repeat this process until there are three coats of sealant over the concrete.

    • 7). Let the sealant completely dry, fill the pond with water, and return the fish and any plants.
