Going on a South African safari can be one of the most rewarding experiences in a lifetime. South Africa offers the chance to see indigenous wildlife that cannot be found anywhere else. The country offers many different adventures that can make your dream vacation a reality; it's a matter of choosing the right adventure. - The three-day Kruger National Park & Sabi Combination package offers the opportunity to experience the best of both worlds in Africa; it includes one night in Kruger National Park and two nights in Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve. After spending the afternoon driving through Kruger Park, observing and learning about the different varieties of African wildlife, you will dine at the camp while listening to the nocturnal sounds of the surroundings. Day two is spent in Sabi Sands where, with luck, you will have the opportunity to both see and photograph the African "big five" (leopard, lion, buffalo, rhino or elephant). On the last day you will drive to Johannesburg to enjoy views at Blyde River Canyon, Lisbon Waterfalls and the Three Rondavels. The package includes professional guides and meals.
- For an ideal opportunity to enjoy the city life of Johannesburg and see the wildlife of Kruger Park, take the Five-Night City and Bush Break tour. The first day starts with checking into your room, followed by a late breakfast or brunch. After you eat, you spend the rest of the afternoon touring the Soweto and Apartheid Museum. These museums offer the chance to see and feel the experiences of racial segregation of the South African experience: the Sharpeville Massacre of 1960 and the Soweto Uprising of 1976. Be prepared to see historical footage, newspaper articles and photographs. On the second day of the trip you drive to Kruger Park and enjoy the beautiful sights of the regions through which you are journeying. It will take approximately five hours, and the vehicle is air-conditioned. During the next three days you will explore Kruger Park and everything it has to offer. Stay in Skukuza Camp or go on a stroll to photograph the wildlife and indigenous plants. On the last day of the tour, after you return to Johannesburg, check out the Hector Peterson Memorial or Vilakazi Street, which is where you can see the houses of Nelson Mandela and Bishop Desmond Tutu.
- Ideal for those romantically inclined, Kwa-Zulu Natal Beach and Bush Safari is a holiday for both exploring and relaxing. Spend day one to four at either Phinda Forest Lodge or Phinda Mountain Lodge, where you will explore the Phinda Reserve firsthand. Take a tour through the reserve, photographing the natural wildlife found within, or stay at the lodge and enjoy the house wines and local spirits. The last four nights you can relax at Thongs Beach Lodge, swimming, scuba diving or watching the leatherhead turtles come in to shore to lay their eggs.
